Opening in the Summer of 2019
The mission is to provide evidence-based, comprehensive care to our pediatric cancer survivors and to deliver effective transition to adult care.
One out of every three childhood cancer survivors will experience at least one serious late effect, or medical complication, from their cancer treatment. The clinic is a long-term follow-up program that cares for cancer and bone marrow transplant survivors. The multidisciplinary team specializes in the comprehensive care of children, adolescents and young adults after childhood cancer treatment. The team includes Pediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant physicians and nurse practitioners, a nurse case manager, social worker, physical therapist, psychologist, cardiologist and additional subspecialists as needed to provide comprehensive, evidence based care.
MISSION: The Brian Duensing Foundation is dedicated to providing hope and support to families battling cancer or serious illness. This is accomplished by increasing awareness and by raising funds to support in two main areas:
(1) research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment;
(2) outreach projects specifically designed to ease the emotional, financial and spiritual burdens endured by families facing these diseases.
INVOLVEMENT: Throughout Brian's career in professional baseball, he and Lisa have been blessed to have many philanthropic opportunities outside of their foundation. Each of these experiences has provided them with insight to others' needs and a heart for giving of their time and resources to help during those times of struggle.
TAKING IT FURTHER: A national footprint allows the foundation to make a difference in communities large and small, providing a helping hand wherever needed.
